Information Literacy Intensives

The Coordinator for Information Literacy Courses is Erica Abrams Locklear (elocklea@unca.edu)

Two Information Literacy Intensive courses are required for graduation. One intensive is earned through completion of LANG 120. Transfer students will receive an ILI by completing LSIC 379.

Below is a list of Information Literacy Intensive courses currently approved. If an instructor's name appears with the course, you must take the course with that instructor. To find out which are offered this registration period, look it up here or on your Oneport.

The semester information listed beside each course indicates the approval period during which the course satisfies the requirements for ILI credit. Students who take the course during this time, will receive ILI credit. If an ending term is not listed, the course will satisfy the ILI requirement each time the course is offered, beginning with the semester listed. Note: courses may not be offered every semester during the approval period.

Students who wish to petition a class to be ILI should submit the petition form and supporting documentation to the intensive coordinator. If a petition is submitted before the start of pre-registration, the committee will attend to the request by the end of the semester.  If a petition is submitted after this time, the committee cannot guarantee that the petition will be attended to by the end of the semester.

Please note: All sections of LANG 120 and LSIC 379 are Information Literacy Intensive.
