Writing Intensives
The Coordinator for Writing Intensive Courses is Irene Rossell (irossell@unca.edu).
These are the Writing Intensive courses currently approved or in development. If an instructor's name appears with the course, you must take that instructor. Otherwise, any section of that class counts. To find out which of these are offered this registration period, look it up on the Registrar's website or on your Oneport.
The semester information listed beside each course indicates the approval period during which the course satisfies the requirements for WI credit. Students who take the course during this time, will receive WI credit. If an ending term is not listed, the course will satisfy the WI requirement each time the course is offered, beginning with the semester listed. Note: courses may not be offered every semester during the approval period.
Students who wish to petition a class to be WI should submit the petition form and supporting documentation to the intensive coordinator. If a petition is submitted before the start of pre-registration, the committee will attend to the request by the end of the semester. If a petition is submitted after this time, the committee cannot guarantee that the petition will be attended to by the end of the semester.
